You now have the option to link your PayPal and Venmo credit or debit cards with your Apple Wallet

PayPal has recently unveiled a new feature that allows its users to seamlessly connect their PayPal and Venmo credit or debit cards to their Apple Wallet. This integration enables you to conveniently make purchases in physical stores, online, or within various apps using Apple Pay. It’s worth mentioning that you’ll still be able to accumulate cashback and rewards as usual.

To begin the process, simply launch the Apple Wallet app and choose the “add debit or credit card” option. From there, you can opt to scan your PayPal or Venmo credit or debit card using your device’s camera, or alternatively, manually input the card details.

Currently, the process of adding your cards to your Apple Wallet must be done through the Apple Wallet app. However, PayPal has stated that in the upcoming months, users will have the convenience of adding their cards directly within the PayPal or Venmo mobile apps. Additionally, the company has exciting plans for the near future, as they intend to enable the use of a PayPal Business Debit Card with Apple Pay in the coming months.

Once you’ve successfully added a card, you can easily make in-store purchases using Apple Pay. To do so, simply double-click the side button, authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID, and then hold your iPhone or Apple Watch close to the payment reader. For online or in-app transactions, navigate to the checkout page and select the Apple Pay option.

This new integration follows PayPal’s recent announcement that its PYUSD stablecoin, designed for payments and transfers, is now accessible on Venmo. Launched last month, PYUSD is issued by Paxos Trust Company and is backed by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. Treasuries, and similar cash equivalents.
