WhatsApp introduces an integrated document scanner: Here’s how to use it

WhatsApp Adds Document Scanning Feature: Here’s How to Use It

WhatsApp, the widely popular messaging app owned by Meta with over two billion global users, continues to innovate by introducing new features. Among its latest updates, WhatsApp offers a built-in document scanner for iPhone users, eliminating the need to rely on external apps to scan and share documents.

Previously, users had to switch to third-party applications to scan documents, save them, and then attach them to WhatsApp. This new feature makes the entire process seamless, allowing users to scan and share directly within the app.

How to Use the Document Scanner on WhatsApp:

  1. Access the Scanner: Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and tap the “+” button on the bottom bar. Then, select the “Documents” option.
  2. Select the Scan Option: You will be presented with three choices – “Choose from files,” “Choose photo or video,” and “Scan document.” Select “Scan document.”
  3. Capture the Document: The built-in camera will activate. Place the document inside the camera’s frame and press the capture button to initiate the scan.
  4. Share the Scanned Document: Once scanned, you can share it with your contacts just like any other document.

The new feature is being rolled out gradually, so it may take some time to appear on your device. Currently, there’s no confirmation about when this functionality will be available for Android users, who will still need to use third-party apps for now.

This addition makes document sharing on WhatsApp much more convenient, especially for professionals and students who frequently share scanned files. Keep an eye out for the update!
