The WhatsApp ticketing service has now been made accessible on all Delhi NCR metro lines

To utilize this feature, users can initiate the ticket booking process by sending a message that says ‘Hi’ to +91 9650855800 on WhatsApp.

Delhi Metro commuters have reason to celebrate as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has expanded its WhatsApp-based ticketing system. Initially launched on the Airport Express Line in June and following its resounding success, the DMRC has now extended this convenient service to encompass nearly all the lines in the Delhi-NCR region, including the Gurugram Rapid Metro. This service expansion is the result of a collaborative effort between Meta and its authorized partner, Pelocal Fintech Pvt. Ltd.

Vikas Kumar, the Managing Director of DMRC, expressed, “WhatsApp stands as the favored messaging platform for a vast majority of Indians, and now, purchasing a metro ticket will be as effortless as sending a message to a friend or family member. We have full confidence that this integration will inspire more commuters to opt for the Delhi metro as their primary mode of transportation.” This statement was issued in a press release.

Since its introduction in June, this service has significantly benefited thousands of passengers throughout the region. To utilize this feature, users can initiate the process by sending a message containing ‘Hi’ to +91 9650855800 on WhatsApp. Alternatively, they have the option to conveniently purchase metro tickets by scanning a QR code. This user-friendly WhatsApp chatbot is accessible in both Hindi and English.

The service’s reach now extends to 12 Metro lines, encompassing a total of 288 metro stations, including the Gurugram Metro Line. With this expanded capability, metro travelers can effortlessly acquire their metro tickets without leaving the comfort of their homes.

Users have the option to generate a maximum of six QR tickets in a single transaction. The booking window for tickets on all lines is open from 6 am to 9 pm, while for the airport line, it extends from 4 am to 11 pm. Please note that ticket cancellations are not permitted.

A nominal convenience fee will be applied to transactions made via credit or debit cards, whereas UPI-based transactions will not incur any convenience fee.

The innovative WhatsApp-based ticketing service is poised to transform the accessibility of metro tickets for commuters, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the metro travel experience. This seamless ticketing solution reflects the unwavering commitment of DMRC to continually enhance the convenience and satisfaction of its passengers.
