Snapchat has released its Apple Watch app for users worldwide

Snapchat has introduced a new app for Apple Watch, giving users the ability to use the platform right from their wrist. Thanks to this update, Snapchat is now accessible on phones, tablets, desktop browsers, and Apple Watch devices.

The new Apple Watch app allows users to view incoming messages and respond using the on-screen keyboard, voice input, Scribble, or emojis.
This makes it easier to send a quick message—like letting a friend know you’ve arrived at a meetup spot or replying while you’re out for a run.

Previously, Apple Watch users could only view Snapchat notifications if they were enabled on their iPhone. There wasn’t an option to respond directly from the Watch until now.

In a blog post, Snap shared that people are using multiple devices daily, and the company is working to make Snapchat accessible across all of them—including wearables.

This marks a change in Snap’s approach, as CEO Evan Spiegel had once expressed doubt about using Snapchat on small screens like the Apple Watch. Now, the focus is on enabling quick text replies rather than viewing photos or videos.

By launching this watchOS app, Snapchat has taken the lead over other popular messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, which have yet to release dedicated apps for the Apple Watch.
