Sellers on Amazon can now generate listings via a URL using artificial intelligence (AI)

Last year, Amazon introduced generative AI-powered functionalities to expedite the creation of listings by sellers, requiring only a few descriptive words about the product. Now, the e-commerce giant is simplifying the listing process further for sellers who already have items listed on their websites.

Amazon’s latest tool employs AI to extract details from a product’s URL on another site, streamlining the creation of listings on Amazon. Initially available in English for U.S.-based sellers, this feature aims to facilitate the listing creation process.

Aside from using minimal text or images for listing generation, we’re now offering sellers the ability to utilize their existing listings by simply providing Amazon with a URL. Our generative AI-based features automatically parse this information to generate high-quality, engaging listings for Amazon’s platform,” the company stated on its blog.

Last October, Amazon introduced a tool for advertisers to create contextual backgrounds through text prompts, citing a 40% increase in click-through rates compared to white backgrounds.

According to Amazon’s latest announcement, over 100,000 sellers have experimented with generative AI tools, with an intriguing 80% acceptance rate for suggestions provided by AI-powered tools.

Other industry players have also ventured into AI-powered tools for advertisers and retailers. Google unveiled a tool for product imagery last year, while eBay introduced a feature to generate listings from product images. Earlier this year, Shopify launched its AI-powered image editor for products.
