The announcement follows a statement from CEO Sam Altman on X, where he mentioned that the company would “pull up some releases.”
OpenAI, supported by Microsoft, has introduced ChatGPT Gov, a specialized version of ChatGPT aimed specifically at U.S. government agencies, according to a blog post released on Tuesday. The organization noted that agencies can implement ChatGPT Gov within their own Microsoft Azure commercial cloud infrastructure and will benefit from various features available in ChatGPT Enterprise, including the option to create custom GPTs.
This launch occurred just hours after Altman made his first public comment since the emergence of the low-cost Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, which caused a stir in AI-related stocks on Monday. Altman referred to DeepSeek as a “new competitor” after its free AI assistant surpassed ChatGPT in downloads from Apple’s App Store.
The surge in DeepSeek’s popularity has prompted investors in U.S. technology firms to exercise greater caution regarding the substantial funds allocated for expanding AI ventures.
