Apple’s iPhone 15 Launch Marred by Unexpected Glitch during Data Transfer. Apple’s iPhone 15, highly awaited by tech enthusiasts, hit a snag soon after its release. Several early adopters reported encountering the so-called “Apple freeze screen” when attempting to migrate data from their previous iPhone models.
The global release on Friday saw eager fans worldwide queuing up to purchase the latest smartphone. Nonetheless, the excitement was short-lived for some, as they faced an issue where the device displayed the dreaded “Apple freeze screen” while transferring data from older iPhones.
An affected individual shared on X platform: “After migrating data from my previous iPhone, it’s been stuck for hours displaying the Apple logo and a progress bar. I can’t even power it off.”
The individual further expressed their frustration, wondering, “How long will I be stuck without a working phone?”
Addressing the issue, Apple released an iOS 17.0.2 update a day prior to the official shipment, which supposedly corrects the glitch. Yet, notable users like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentioned they weren’t notified to install this update upon activating their new devices. For those already facing the “Apple freeze screen,” the remedy requires connecting the iPhone to a Mac or PC using a cable to restore it.
Apple representatives remained unavailable for comments when approached by Insider outside of standard business hours.
Despite these challenges, the iPhone 15 garnered significant attention when unveiled on September 12.
However, beyond these teething issues, some enthusiasts felt a few new features on the iPhone 15 didn’t meet their expectations.
