Infosys to Expand Hyderabad Campus, Creating 17,000 New Jobs
Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services provider, has announced plans to expand its IT campus in Pocharam, Hyderabad, promising to generate an additional 17,000 jobs. The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum in Davos following a meeting between Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka and Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, D. Sridhar Babu.
Infosys is one of the largest employers in the region. It currently employs over 35,000 people at its Pocharam campus. The expansion, which involves the construction of new IT buildings under phase one, involves an investment of ₹750 crore. The project is expected to be completed in the next 2-3 years and will accommodate 10,000 employees.
This collaboration underscores Telangana’s commitment to fostering partnerships with industry leaders and promoting sustainable growth in the tech sector.
“Our collaboration with the Government of Telangana reflects a shared goal of driving innovation, empowering communities, and strengthening the IT ecosystem,” said Jayesh Sanghrajka, CFO of Infosys.
