Google’s most recent Pixel Drop enables users to share high-quality photos and videos directly on Instagram

Google unveiled its latest batch of Pixel-related features today, spanning phones, tablets, and watches. These include 10-bit video support for Instagram, an expansion of the Circle to search feature, automatic workout detection on the original Pixel Watch, and selective app screening for multiple Pixel devices.

For Pixel phones, users can now capture and upload 10-bit HDR videos and share Ultra HDR images on Instagram. This functionality is available for Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Fold users. The “Circle to search” feature, introduced in January, allows users to circle an item on the screen to perform a search. Initially launched with Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, it is now available for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users, with Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro users receiving it soon. Google has enhanced its call screening feature with a “Hello” chip in conversation mode, prompting callers to speak and enabling the assistant to ask callers to wait if necessary.

In terms of Pixel Watch updates, Google introduces Pace training and Heart Zone training modes for the original Pixel Watch, utilizing GPS and motion sensors to monitor pace and heart rate ranges during workouts. Automatic workout start and stop detection is also added to the first-gen Pixel Watch, along with the Fitbit Relax app for guided breathing experiences and mindfulness.

Across the portfolio, all devices from Pixel 5a onwards, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold will gain the ability to share a specific app’s screen during a video call. FastPair-compatible Bluetooth accessories can now be quickly added to new devices through subsequent pairing features. Users of the Pixel Tablet and Pixel 8 or newer devices can annotate documents using a stylus or finger, and the Pixel Tablet keyboard shrinks when using voice input.
