Google Keep for Android now includes text formatting features at long last

In Google Keep on Android, you have the ability to apply text formatting such as bold, italics, underline, and strikethrough to your content.

For enthusiasts of Google Keep, the straightforward and intelligent note-taking application, there’s great news: an eagerly awaited update has just arrived for its Android version.

Google recently revealed that you now have the capability to apply various text formatting options, including bold, italics, underline, and strikethrough. This enhancement promises to bring more organization and expression to your notes, and you can anticipate the arrival of these new features in the app shortly.

Google Keep stands as one of the most favored note-taking applications available, renowned for its speed and compatibility across Android, iOS, and web platforms, along with its seamless integration with other Google services. Despite its popularity, the absence of certain fundamental features has been a lingering issue. Notably, the inability to modify text appearance has prompted numerous user requests for formatting alternatives over an extended period.

It appears that Google has heeded these requests and is currently in the process of deploying the update to Android users. This update introduces a novel toolbar positioned above the keyboard, featuring an array of text formatting choices. These selections are poised to be particularly handy for scenarios where you wish to highlight specific words or phrases, strike through the content you’ve altered or completed, or purely enhance the visual appeal of your notes.

A few individuals have already caught a glimpse of this feature ahead of its formal release, implying that it won’t be long before it becomes accessible to all users. In addition to this, the update introduces a version history feature, allowing you to review all the modifications made to your notes throughout their progression.

This year hasn’t marked the first instance of Google’s attention toward enhancing Keep. Previously, the company introduced a fresh home screen widget and the capability to simultaneously open multiple Keep windows on your device.
