Acquired by Google in August 2024, the company announced its expansion into a multi-modal experience, aiming to provide creators with more tools to craft immersive narratives and dynamic experiences.
In a recent update, Character.AI announced several upcoming features, including AvatarFX—an AI-powered video creation tool—alongside new additions called Scenes and Streams.
Previously exclusive to paid subscribers, AvatarFX is now available to all users, allowing the creation of up to five videos per day.
AvatarFX utilizes AI to transform images into animated videos, enabling characters to talk, sing, or perform actions. This tool is particularly beneficial for content creators seeking to produce character introductions or enhance engagement with dynamic, shareable media. Currently, the feature is accessible via the web version, with plans to extend support to mobile platforms soon.
Character.AI has launched several new features aimed at enhancing storytelling and community interaction on its platform. For those interested in animation, the platform now offers “Imagine Animated Chats,” which brings AI-generated characters to life through animation. This feature also allows users to animate conversations between characters and share the results either on the Character.AI feed or external platforms. Currently, this option is exclusive to c.ai+ subscribers using the mobile app.
Finally, the newly introduced community feed ties everything together by creating a space where users can share Characters, Scenes, Streams, and their own content, fostering a more social and collaborative environment on mobile devices.
