Apple could potentially be developing a new application called ‘Invites’

The year has just started, and Apple appears to be exploring the development of a new iOS app called “Invites.” While specific details remain sparse, the app could potentially serve as a competitor to platforms like Evite or Partiful.

As reported by 9to5Mac, an analysis of iOS 18.3 beta 2 code reveals that Apple might be working on a tool to facilitate sharing invitations for both in-person and virtual events. The app is expected to integrate with iCloud and may also have a web-based version available on iCloud.com.

Currently, Apple users can send event invitations using the Calendar app for purposes such as scheduling meetings. However, the proposed “Invites” app could offer a different experience. Instead of a traditional calendar invite, it may allow users to generate a link to a dedicated event page that displays event details in an engaging format, along with a list of invitees. This could make it ideal for occasions like birthday parties, weddings, reunions, or corporate events.

The report also highlights that Apple might utilize a relatively new internal framework called GroupKit to manage groups of people, such as event attendees. Additionally, the app could include a companion feature within iMessage to provide quick access to invitations.

Apple has not yet confirmed or provided any official announcement about this app, leaving it unclear when users might be able to explore this new feature.
