Airtel, Jio, and Vi have rolled out new, more affordable voice and SMS-only recharge plans, providing users with better value. These plans, introduced following the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) directive to offer voice and SMS-only options, are priced lower than the typical recharge plans that include data benefits.
Both Airtel and Jio have recently updated these value-focused plans, which are now under review by TRAI. Some of their previous data-inclusive plans have been discontinued. Below are the details of the new recharge plans from Airtel and Jio without data benefits.
Airtel’s Voice and SMS-Only Recharge Plans

- Benefits: Unlimited calls and 3,600 SMS for the year

- Airtel Rs 469 Plan
- Validity: 84 days
- Features: Unlimited calling and 900 SMS

Jio’s Voice and SMS-Only Recharge Plans
- Jio Rs 1,748 Plan
- Validity: 336 days
- Benefits: Unlimited calls and 3,600 SMS for the entire period, plus access to JioCinema (base tier)
- Effective Cost: Rs 5.20 per day
- Jio Rs 448 Plan
- Validity: 84 days
- Benefits: Unlimited calls, 1000 SMS, plus access to JioTV, JioCinema, and JioCloud
- Daily Cost: Rs 5
Vi’s Voice and SMS-Only Recharge Plan
- Vi Rs 1,460 Plan
- Validity: 270 days
- Benefits: Unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day
