The anticipated debut of the Apple iPhone 15 series is slated for September of the current year. Apple is making preparations for the unveiling of its iPhone 15 lineup in the ongoing year, with purported plans for September 12. Recent leaks showcasing renders of the iPhone 15 Plus have brought to light internal charging elements, underscoring the inclusion of Apple’s proprietary 3LD3 chip within the device.

Prominent insider Majin Bu recently divulged alleged visuals on platform X, providing an early look at the charging elements situated within the much-anticipated iPhone 15 Plus. These visuals lay bare the existence of an Apple-manufactured 3LD3 chip, a purpose yet to be definitively defined. Majin Bu speculates on its plausible involvement in data transmission encryption, a move that could potentially fortify iPhone data security. Furthermore, the chip’s potential contribution to regulating charging rates is also a plausible consideration.

Back in March, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared insights indicating that the inclusion of a USB Type-C port within the iPhone 15 series would enable expedited charging performance, particularly when paired with officially sanctioned cables.

Kuo went on to elaborate that Apple has aspirations to amplify the rapid-charging capabilities of the MFi (Made For iPhone) endorsed charger designed for the iPhone 15. This leads to speculation that the 3LD3 chip could potentially serve as a mechanism to differentiate between Apple-certified cables and other compatible adapters. Consequently, users of the iPhone 15 might find it advantageous to select an MFi USB Type-C cable to ensure both optimal charging efficiency and effective data transfers.

Simultaneously, there are reports indicating that Apple is in the process of preparing a noteworthy transformation for its renowned Apple Watch. There are potential indications of an introduction of the “Apple Watch X” in either 2024 or 2025, aligning with the remarkable milestone of the device’s decade-long existence in the market. This forthcoming version is anticipated to usher in the most significant alterations ever witnessed in the history of the watch, marking a departure from the sequence of minor enhancements witnessed over the years.

Insights provided by technology analyst Mark Gurman suggest that the Apple Watch X could potentially introduce a sleeker design, along with an innovative magnetic mechanism devised for attaching watch bands. The present design, involving the insertion and locking of bands along the sides, occupies valuable internal space, consequently limiting the scope for enhancements such as larger battery capacities.

In his recent edition of the PowerOn newsletter, Gurman elaborates, “Apple has intentions to introduce a ‘Watch X’ model, commemorating a decade of the device’s existence, and it promises to deliver the most extensive transformation to date.” He further expounds, “Having made its debut in 2014 and subsequently launched the following year, Apple is aiming to unveil the Watch X around 2024 or 2025.”
