New Delhi: On the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks to the country from the renowned Red Fort. He emphasized India’s unique strengths in “demography, democracy, and diversity”, suggesting they can help achieve the nation’s ambitions. “India stands strong with its three pillars – demography, democracy, and diversity. Together, they pave the way to fulfill the nation’s aspirations,” said PM Modi.
Reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s efforts to assist various nations during those challenging times, affirming that India has established itself as a “Global Ally” or “Vishwa Mitra”. “It’s crucial for us to fortify our nation to further global prosperity or Vishwa Mangal. The support India extended to the global community post-pandemic shows our commitment to being a Vishwa Mitra. Our goal remains to broaden this ideal of global well-being,” remarked PM Modi.
This year marks PM Modi’s 10th successive Independence Day speech at the Red Fort, attended by cabinet ministers, political figures, military leaders, and key officials.
To ensure safety during the event, a robust security arrangement is operational in Delhi, particularly around the iconic Red Fort, with over 10,000 officers on duty.
